Alternatively we take the state of the art rotating cable way to the summit and start our hike from here. If we hike up - the start of this trail happens to be the hardest part – we get the hard work done first. The rest of the day is spent on top of the mountain in natural fauna and flora surrounds passing Maclears Beacon (the highest point of Table Mountain 1086m),reservoirs, the water works museum and a few rivers. We descend gently into Hout bay to reach your accommodation late afternoon.

Duration: 4-6 hours

Length: 9-15 km

We depart after a peaceful nights rest. We head off after breakfast through beautiful vineyards at Constantia Nek via Vlakkenberg with magnificent views over the Constantia wine region and False Bay. We continue through pristine fynbos and also explore the old Manganese mines above Hout Bay. The views over Hout Bay are incredible! Towards the end, we descend into Hout Bay, above the famous Chapmans Peak drive – and take in more breath-taking views. The last part of the walk is an easy descent to your hotel.

Duration: 4-5 hours

Length: 8-10km

This beautiful hike starts at Scarborough Conservation Village. It is a very remote area with beautiful views. It takes you past Kleinplaas Dam, which is great for a lunch break before descending down into Simonstown. You will pass the old Naval signal base above Simonstown and learn the interesting story of one of the only dogs who got enlisted in the Navy – Able Seaman Just Nuisance! The views are unbelievable overlooking False Bay. We then descend down the historic steps into Simonstown. Walk through this quaint historic town to reach your guest house. This is a moderate to easy hike.

Duration: 6 hours

Length: 11.4 km

This walk has an uphill pull at the beginning and a steep downhill at the end. We start ascending on the Old Mule Trail up to Blockhouse Gap where we find two old blockhouses. From there we continue a breath-taking walk along the Swartkop Ridges, up to Swartkop peak (678 m). The views from the top are quite stunning, overlooking Simon’s Town. False Bay on the one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. From the top there is a fairly sudden descent into the valley below and you can see the path stretch up on the other side. The path is clear and although it is steep, it is a reasonably easy walk, followed by a long slow trek up the other side. The views are changing constantly and the flora is wonderful. The path ascends and descends through various valleys until the final short plateau provides a vista over the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and beautiful view all the way to Cape Point. Just after this you start the very steep descent down to Smitswinkel Bay. The path is good all the way down. You need to be careful as there are some places where you need to use both hands and feet. The trail ends at the superb Smitswinkel Bay.

Duration: 6 hours

Length: 17,5km

Your journey begins at the entrance to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and ends at the most south westerly tip of the African continent (Cape of Good Hope / Cape Point). Experience panoramic views of both False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Walk through vast tracts of fragrant fynbos (Indigenous vegetation of the Cape), while enjoying fresh air and some of the most spectacular scenery the cape has to offer! Look out for a wide variety of antelope, reptiles and birds. We might even be able to view Mountain Zebra, Ostrich, Eland, Bontebok and the local Chacma baboon. Also keep an eye out for whales (usually between July and December each year).

The trail takes hikers through some of the most pristine wilderness reserve, cutting through vast plains of fynbos and over isolated beaches and above cliffs overlooking False Bay. You have the opportunity to enjoy parts of the reserve not many people get to see.
