CAPE WHALE WATCHING ROUTE
The coastal town of Hermanus , lies between the fynbos-covered mountains and the waves of the Atlantic, is said to be the world's best land based whale watching spot. It forms the centre of the Cape Whale Route and is surrounded by nature reserves.
Hermanus is an easy 1 hour drive from Cape Town CBD. We drive through the well know Grabouw and Elgin, famous for apple farming. You will have the opportunity to stop to explore the apple industry of the Cape and sample the very famous Appletizer , freshly pressed apple juice, or have a leisurely walk through the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens.
Once we arrive in Hermanus, you will have ample time to explore the Cliff Path Nature area for the best shore based whale watching experience. Here one can watch whales spy-hopping, breaching and lob-tailing. One can also take a whale watching boat trip (this should be pre arranged with the guide).
Hermanus is also a paradise for fishermen from all over the country and one can go down to the New Harbour to watch fishing trawlers unloading their catches. For those who prefer a bit of history can visit the Old Harbour, which is an historic highlight of the town, remaining unchanged from the early days when it was the centre of activity in the fishing village.
After a fun filled visit to Hermanus we make our way back, but not before visiting the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley for a unique wine tour among the most southern vineyards in Africa. The cool maritime climate and right soil composition combine to make the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley the ideal location for the fussy Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay vines. Treat yourself!

This tour is suitable for 1-3 persons, but we could also accommodate 2 adults and 2 smaller children - please enquire.
$295 per tour (1 person) - a $59 per person charge apply for a maximum of 2 addittional persons.
MAXI PRIVATE TOUR
This tour is suitable for groups of 4-7 persons.
$442 per tour (1 person) - a $59 per person charge apply for a maximum of 6 additional persons.
*Bigger groups are gladly accommodated by request.
All entrance fees, toll fees are included, unless specified as optional.
